The Community Gathering is an opportunity for professionals and volunteers working in the culture, recreation and sport sectors to connect for a day of learning, networking, community building, and fun. The day will begin with diverse Canadian stories to inspire us to build authentic communities, delivered by Travis Boser, creator and co-host of “Canada Out of the Closet”. From there, participants engage in focused sessions on facility management, leadership development designed to empower and equip you with practical tools and strengths-based strategies. Participate in interactive discussions meeting community needs, learn from Michele Rowe, Métis Counsellor and Consultant about Neurodivergent communities and Walking in Two Worlds. Two community-based organizations will get the spotlight to talk about their community-building projects. The day will conclude the day with dynamic table chats and talking circles, fostering meaningful exchanges and reflection, led by a Nekaneet Elder.
